As the summer has progressed, the intern issue campaigns have moved from learning the files, developing the key messaging, and now, to developing the actual creative content. Several advertisement ideas have been developed and storyboarded out, along with dozens of infographics to inform Albertans on these important political and economic issues.
The Global Petroleum Show was a great experience for our new organization and provided an excellent opportunity to introduce ourselves to Alberta’s most important industry. We had a sizeable booth in a high traffic area (near the international pavilion) and Industry professionals were incredibly receptive to our message that the provincial and federal governments are hurting Alberta’s competitiveness, particularly in the Energy Sector. We gave away hundreds of Alberta Can’t Wait buttons and t-shirts which provided opportunities to engage in great discussions with conference attendees.
Some of us also were able to attend the speech given by Premier Rachel Notley in which she re-iterated her government’s support for Oil and Gas, and expressed her belief that the Trans Mountain pipeline would be completed, providing more markets for Alberta’s energy products.
