CDP at the Global Petroleum Show
The Global Petroleum Show was a great experience for our new organization and provided an excellent opportunity to introduce ourselves to Alberta’s most important industry. We had a sizeable booth in a high traffic area (near the international pavilion) and Industry professionals were incredibly receptive to our message that the provincial and federal governments are hurting Alberta’s competitiveness, particularly in the Energy Sector. We gave away hundreds of Alberta Can’t Wait buttons and t-shirts which provided opportunities to engage in great discussions with conference attendees.
Some of us also were able to attend the speech given by Premier Rachel Notley in which she re-iterated her government’s support for Oil and Gas, and expressed her belief that the Trans Mountain pipeline would be completed, providing more markets for Alberta’s energy products.
We are grateful to our four interns who did an admirable job of explaining the kinds of projects our organization is involved in, and who were a great public face for Canadian for Democracy and Prosperity. We also had the benefit of 300 chocolate chip cookies in the shape of maple leaves which were a big hit and drove traffic to our booth for all three days of the show.
Overall, we were grateful for the opportunity to showcase our organization at such a high profile event, grateful to our interns who represented us so well to the public, and grateful for the hundreds of common-sense Albertans who expressed their support for our organization and our belief in promoting democracy and prosperity.
